The **Opinel No. 8** is the perfect example of an Opinel pocket knife with a wooden handle. Originally made for farmers in 1890 by Joseph Opinel. The Opinel pocket knife is a famous, but very affordable pocket knife for daily use.

The larger models are enhanced with the simple but effective Virobloc lock. It is formed by the ring that rotates around the pivot. As such the blade is locked in place. A true classic.

This knife is enhanced with a carbon steel blade. It is thin, easy to sharpen and still very strong. Carbon steel, however, is a little more sensitive to rust than stainless steel and, therefore, needs to be kept clean and dry.
