The **Opinel No. 8** is the perfect example of an Opinel pocket knife with a wooden handle. Originally made for farmers in 1890 by Joseph Opinel. The Opinel pocket knife is a famous, but very affordable pocket knife for daily use.

The larger models are enhanced with the simple but effective Virobloc lock. It is formed by the ring that rotates around the pivot. As such the blade is locked in place. A true classic.

This knife is enhanced with a carbon steel blade. It is thin, easy to sharpen and still very strong. Carbon steel, however, is a little more sensitive to rust than stainless steel and, therefore, needs to be kept clean and dry. Goed opinel mesje, sluiting gaat wel een beetje stroef.

Een klassieker die niet mocht ontbreken aan mijn (geringe) verzameling messen.
Eenvoudige uitvoering en doeltreffende vergrendeling door een draaibare ring.
Een mes dat niemand zal afschrikken als je een appeltje schilt of iets dergelijks. Opa had er vroeger ook èèn. Mes is met een slijpsteentje vlijmscherp te krijgen. Echt een mes om van alles mee te snijden. . Het mes, hout en metaal gaan verkleuren door gebruik. Ik vind dat erg mooi.
Prijskwaliteit-verhouding is goed. 
Echt een zakmes dat je altijd bij je kunt hebben. Mijn vrouw snijdt er veldbloemen mee. Prachtig in zijn eenvoud bruikbaarheid!

Ik gebruik m'n Opinels (een paar oude en een enkele nieuwe als keukenmes.

Heb er altijd een willen hebben. De lage prijs en hoge kwaliteit maakte het mogelijk er een hebben .
