IP68 torches

IP68 torches are dustproof and tested for use under water: the manufacturer decides to what depth and for how long, just like with IPX8. This combination is the most versatile choice for extreme conditions, from a sandy beach to a lake, but it does not make it a diving light. If you only want protection against water, an IPX rating is sufficient. View the other protection classes above for the type of use that suits you.

Features of IP68 torches

An IP68 torch combines the highest dust protection with a submersion test under water. The first digit (6) stands for full protection against dust, the second digit (8) for submersion under conditions determined by the manufacturer, just like with IPX8: no fixed depth or duration, only more demanding than the IPX7 test (1 metre, 30 minutes). That makes these torches suitable for harsh conditions such as the beach, desert or building site, but not for prolonged diving; for that you need a real diving light.

Clean the housing regularly, especially after use in sandy or dusty environments, so the seals stay supple and effective. Store the lamp dry when you are not using it.
