Due Cigni pratiKO kitchen knives

The pratiKO series by Due Cigni was designed by Michele Massaro and made in Maniago, Italy's knife capital. The name is a playful take on the Italian word ''pratico'', meaning ''practical''. And that's exactly what the series is all about! Japanese-inspired shapes on a western handle in black G10: the series includes a paring knife, a petty, a gyuto and a sujihiki. Every blade is made of Sandvik 12C27 steel, hardened to 57 HRC. Knives to use every day, without fuss.

Features of the Due Cigni pratiKO knives

With the pratiKO series, Due Cigni brings the Japanese knife repertoire into the Western kitchen. Designer Michele Massaro went for functional shapes and a clear, practical look, just as the name of the series suggests.

A distinctive feature of the pratiKO series is the notch between the blade and the handle. Placing your index finger in this notch naturally positions your grip close to the blade. This gives you greater control over the knife and makes precise cutting more comfortable.

Steel and hardness

Every pratiKO knife has a blade made from Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel, hardened to 57 HRC. This is a fine-grained Swedish steel that is easy to sharpen yourself and holds up well against corrosion. The satin finish keeps everything looking understated. Do wash the knives by hand, because the dishwasher is a bad idea for this series too.

Handle in black G10

The handle is made of black G10, a composite of glass fibre and resin. The material does not absorb moisture, does not shrink and maintains a good grip even with wet hands. The Western-style design feels comfortable in the hand, even if you have never used a Japanese model before.

Which models are in the series?

The series consists of Japanese knife types: a paring knife for small jobs, a petty as a handy all-rounder, a gyuto as a chef's knife and a sujihiki for slicing meat and fish. Want to see the brand's full range first? Here you will find all Due Cigni kitchen knives.
