Tojiro DP37 kitchen knives: the flagship model with a premium look
The DP37 series is the premium version of the DP3 series: their 'flagship model'. The DP37 series has a blade made of beautiful damascus steel. What sets the DP3 and the DP37 series apart from the rest of the Tojiro range is the Western style of the handles. Within this series, you will find various types of kitchen knives.
Features of Tojiro DP37
DP37 blade
The DP37 kitchen knives get their name from the damascus-steel blade that consists of 37 layers of steel. The blade has a core made from VG10 steel. This ensures a strong and flexible blade that looks beautiful without compromising on cutting performance. This forging technique is very well known in Japan and you see it a lot on Japanese kitchen knives.
DP37 handle
The handle is designed in Western style and shares characteristics with traditional German kitchen knives. The three pins in the handle, the steel bolster and the end of the grip are typical German features. The scales are made of a laminated plastic and can take a beating. The steel bolsters prevent dirt from accumulating in the part between the blade and the handle.
