Fällkniven Pro: better than good

According to many outdoor enthusiasts, Fällkniven Pro knives are the best knives produced today. Based on the popular Fällkniven F1, S1 and A1 the Pro-models are slightly better. Better steel, thicker blades and a steel knife guard for more safety. You can clearly tell that the Fällkniven Pro knives are simply a little more robust. Fällkniven has also made the convex grind of the blade slightly more gradual. The laminated CoS or Elmax steel stands out even more!

Features of the Fällkniven Pro

Fällkniven Pro

You’ll recognize a Fällkniven Pro knife by its steel bolster. The bolster is the part between the blade and the handle. The Thermorun finger guard has been replaced by a steel finger guard, for more solidity and improved balance.

Fällkniven Pro handle

The handle covers the tang. The tang only protrudes a bit at the end of the handle. Having the metal covered by scales is particularly useful in cold climates, where low temperatures and humidity can lead to stiff fingers or even frost damage from prolonged contact with steel.

Fällkniven Pro convex grind

Many of Fällkniven's fixed knives are enhanced with a convex grind. The edge of the Pro is even smoother than Fällkniven's other knives. That means that the edge is slightly rounded (hence the name convex) as it tapers off to the finest point of the cutting edge along the blade. As a result, the blade gets that famous convex shape that characterizes the convex grind. It gives the knife a stronger edge than a flat grind. Contrary to what is often thought, sharpening a convex grind is actually not difficult at all! Read more about sharpening convex grinds here.
