Messermeister Overland kitchen knives: robust, versatile knives for outdoor cooking and bushcraft
Messermeister Overland kitchen knives are robust, versatile knives for outdoor cooking. Great during bushcraft adventures or a road-trip through nature. In both cases, you won't want to bring a lot of kitchen knives. The answer is a knife from the Overland collection: from cutting vegetables and meat to making feather sticks for a campfire, a knife from the Overland collection can do it all!
Features of the Messermeister Overland series
For the Overland collection, Messermeister used robust materials that can handle their own. The handles are made from canvas micarta and offer a lot of grip. Micarta is a material that is often used for bushcraft and survival knives. It is made from canvas and synthetic resin. Micarta offers a great grip, even when wet from water or fruit juices. Moreover, this material will form a sort of patina in time, making the handle truly unique.
Messermeister chose Nitro Cobalt steel with a hardness of 62HRC for the blades. Like micarta, Nitro Cobalt steel can handle anything you throw at it. Characterizing for this type of steel is the corrosion resistance and excellent sharpness retention.
Made in Maniago, Italy
While most Messermeister knives are produced in Germany, the Overland collection is produced in Maniago. This city is also known as the knife Mecca of Italy which houses many Italian knife brands.
