The Morakniv Mörkret series consists of heavy-duty survival knives for demanding survival and tactical use. The series is available in three versions with different steel types: 14C28N stainless steel, 100Cr6 carbon steel and Elmax SuperClean powder steel. These are the largest and most robust knives Morakniv has developed to date. Features of the Morakniv Mörkret series
The knives in the Morakniv Mörkret series stand out for their exceptionally robust construction and thoughtful design. With a blade measuring 153 mm long and 4.2 mm thick, they are among Morakniv’s largest and most heavy-duty knives. The full-tang construction, with steel running through the entire handle, gives the knives maximum strength. The new high-flat grind with secondary bevel provides extra strength and durability during intensive use.
The fibreglass-reinforced Power Touch Grip handles provide excellent grip, even in cold and wet conditions or when you’re wearing gloves. The sharp spine of the blade is suitable for use with a fire steel, while the sharpened end of the tang is ideal for scraping tinder.
The knives in the Mörkret series are supplied with the versatile “Click-On Sheath”, suitable for left- and right-handed use and equipped with a secure “click-lock” mechanism. Thanks to its compatibility with TEK-LOK and MOLLE systems and the flexible LIBA Smart belt loop, you can carry the knife safely and comfortably in different ways.
Morakniv Mörkret Elmax 14702
The Morakniv Mörkret Elmax 14702 is the first Morakniv with a blade made from Uddeholm Elmax SuperClean powder steel, hardened to 60.5 HRC. This high-quality stainless steel combines excellent edge retention with toughness and corrosion resistance. That makes the Elmax the premium version in the Mörkret series, ideal if you’re looking for maximum performance.
Morakniv Mörkret 14C28N 14557
The Morakniv Mörkret 14557 has a blade made from Swedish 14C28N stainless steel, cryogenically treated and hardened to 58 HRC. This proven steel type offers a good balance of edge retention, toughness and corrosion resistance. That makes it a versatile and reliable option for a wide range of survival and outdoor tasks
The story behind the Morakniv Mörkret
Mörkret means “the darkness” in Swedish and is the name of a small village in northern Dalarna. In 1997, the area was hit by one of the worst cloudbursts in modern Swedish history, washing away roads and bridges. Morakniv chose the name as a symbol of reliability when nature is at its most unforgiving.
